Marshal Tuan-clii-jui tendered Ms resignation of the army command, but the President refused to accept it. Tuau-chi-jui simultaneously offered peace terms, amounting to complete capitulation. It is 6tated that tie terms comprise the punishment of General Hsu-shu-song, the discharge of all the troops undor Tuan's command, the dismissal of Parliament, the dismissal of three Anfu Ministers, ajid the suppression of the Anfu Club. A party of officers left Peking for Tientsin to oommnnicate the terms to Chih-li. A later message states that the Anfuites admit defeat—Eeuter. Tientsin, July 20.
