PROPAGANDA AGAINST PROVISIONS. (Rec. July 31, 8.30 p.m.) Washington, July 19. Admiral Benson, Chairman of the United States Shipping Boliixl, states: "Foreign shipping interests, particularly those operating oil the Pacific Coast, have conducted propaganda against the provisions of the Jones Shipping Act. They have threatened to divert their vessels to the Vancouver, Atlantic, or !;:ilf ports. These threats must fail. 'J'he Shipping Board is determined to live uf> to the letter of the .Tones Law, despite threats to defeat its purpose."— Aua-N.Z. Cable Assn.
