FORECAST AND SUMMARY AT 4 P.M. YESTERDAY. Present indications are for moderate to Btrong southerly to easterly winds northwards of Farewell Spit and Kalkoura, and variable breezes elsewhere. Weather cold and changeable, with scattered rain in the northern and east coast districts. Cloudiness increasing shortly everywhere. The barometer has a falling tendenoy. The -weather has been fair except alontr the east coast of the North Island, where cold, showery conditions have prevailed.
