MIRAMAR WORKERS' DWELLINGS
WHAT IS HAPPENING.
It is-officially fit a ted that tlieivs is no stoppage of operations on the workers dwellings in course of erection by tho Government at Mirauiar. Mr. I\ W. Rowley, housing superintendent, writes requesting a correction of the statement to this effect in .Monday's Doiiixiox. He says: "It is stated that in the caso of Mr. H, Manning's contract no work has been done since tho work .was 'officially stopped nearly a month ago.' This is not correct. The work is proceeding satisfactorily. A new system of boxing for tho concrete walls has been adopted and the workers have ken busilv engaged making tho same. Two sets nave now been completed and work is proceeding on the wall 6. "Regarding the other contacts on tho Broadway: wor ' c 011 " IC ro °fe ' lns ' 3ccn held up a little awaiting a supply of roofing iron. Two hundred tons arrived on the s.s. Durham last week and this work should now proceed moro expeditiously."
