Freezing buyers, butchers and country clients were all anxious to secure their quoin of supplies, and taken all round the prices realised were a decided advance on late rates. Fat cattle—A small, yarding numbering 155 head. The quality was medium, The number penned was not sufficient for butchers' requirements, and in consequence a buoyant sale resulted. Values were ,£1 a head in advanco of the pre vious week's rates. The average price realised for good quality ox beef ranged from 575. Gd. to COs. per hundred pounds. Extra prime heavy-weight bullocks real' ised from .£29 to .£33 55., prime .£22 10s. to. iC26 17s. (id., medium .£lB to ,£2l 10s., light and unfinished sorts from .£l6 up„ wards. Prime heifers realised from .£lB 10s. to .£27 17s. od., medium £15 to .£l7 10s., light and aged from £11 upwards. Store cattle—A. sparse'supply of store, cattle came forward, the quality being medium. All were disposed of at prices on a par with those which ruled at laat week's sale. Sheep—A largo yarding of fair quality a total of 3167 being offered for sale Buyers were .numerous and) a good demand .existed for all classes. Quite n number of farmers were operating for sheep for topping-off purposes. Prime quality, sheep tivdre sold iat Is. above last week's rates, while secondary and inferior sheep were Is. Gd. per head dearer. Extra prime heavy-weight wo< there realised G3s. 9d. to 755., prime 50s. to Gls., medium 40s. to 475. Gd. li»M and unfinished sorts from 3Gs. upwards. Extra prime heavy-weight ewes realised up to 605., prime 4te. to 51s. 3d., medium* 353. to 425. Gd., light and aged from 303. upwards. Lainbs-A medium yarding of fair quality, numbering 1131 head. All classes were in good demand, freezing buyers being. The prices raised were fully up to last week's high rates, ranging from 255. Dd.-to 425. fid. per head. Kgs-A small yarding, the demand .for which was very keen. All classes snowed an advance on.-l.tto rates to tho extent of from 7s.
