9 . ARRANGEMENTS FOR YEAR TO COME THE BASIS ADOPTED The acting-chairman of the Milk Com mittee reports that after protracted ne gotia'tions with the Board of Trade larmers, and themselves, the Board oi Trade delivered judgment as follows:— Featherston farmers to receive Is. 5d at factory for balance of winter term The Milk Committee to make itsowi arrangements with those farmers witt whom they had contracts. Tho. Board oj Trade also settled tho price to be paid for the supply of.milk from Soptembei 1, 1020, to end of July, 1921, as follows:The basis of price, to be the price of liW-tep-falt prevailing at' the bine, to which is to be added ljd. per lb. butterfat for loss of by-products i Id. extra per gallon to cover registration, cooling, and delivery to .station twice daily, during the summer. months, and Id. freight. This, price, with butter at 2525. per cwt.', will work out at Is. 2d. per gallon for summer months. For the months ol • April and May 15 per cent, to be added to the above, which .works-out at Is. Id, per gallon, and for the months of June and July GO per cent., which will work out at' Is. MM. per gallon; "At a largo meeting held on Monday those farmers who are working under an agreement with the council, met the Milk Committee, to 'discuss', the new state of affairs, and it was mutually agreed thai the price to be paid to those suppliers bo Is. 6J(I. for the.balance of this winter term, delivered in city.
