A YOUTH'S LAPSE Mr. W. Q. Iliddell. S.M., presided at tho Magistrate's Court yesterday and dealt with the police cases. Robert George Neill, .18 years of a Be. waa oharged with (a) on June 20 brcrik' ing and.cnteriwz the warehouse of Lankshear. Ltd., 22 Harris Street, by day, and stealing therefrom Is. 6d. in money and nn iron bar, vnlue Is.; (b) on July 10. breaking and entcriw: the premises of Lankshnar, Ltd., and steallnß therefrom Is. 6d. in moivy end one iron bar value le.: (c) breaking and entering the premises of John> 11. Tolley. 26 Harris Street, and stealing therefrom 2«.- in money, two torches, and an iron har of tho total value of 9s. 6d. Mr. John Scott appeared for the accused. • The accused had been . employed by Lankshcar, Ltd., and on Sunday. June 20, he entered tho premises and etolo the goods mentioned in the first charge. On July 10 he airain broke into Lankshcar's. and on the same evenins he pot into Tolley's prorniws adiolninic Lankshcar's. Constable Hucker. who was on duty in Harrl< Street, noticed a lidit in Tolley s premises, and on making a closer examination saw the accused moving about inside opening drawers. Constable Hucker secured the assistance of Constable Mirran, and the two policemen searched the premiss, nnd after about 15 minutes discovered the youth hiding in a packing ease. D»techveRerzeant Andrews the youth admitted that ho had broken into Lankshears on two occasions and into Tolley a on one occasion, also that he had stolen he goods and money mentioned in tlie ° ThT'acoused pleaded guilty and was committed to the Supreme Court fot sen•Wiiiiam J.
