In a covering letter to the president of tho association, Mr. Coleman Bays:— "I have whined for some time to render a little help to the men who have been blinded during the war, but hitherto have failed to discover the beat means of carrying it into effect. Now, however, owing to the kind assistance of my frincd, Sir Andrew Russell, I have seen a report from General Richardson, who strongly recommends the Commercial Travellers' Association, as tho most satisfactory medium through which the contributions of subscribers could be dispensed. I therefore have, pleasure in sending you cheque for .£IOOO, without any conditions attached, to bo used ua tho association may think fit in the best interests of tho unfortunate men."
