FORECAST AND SUMMARY AT 4 P.M. YESTERDAY. Tresent indications are lor stronc and squally west to south-west winds, and cold, changeable weather, with showers in many parts, particularly in districts with a westerly aspect. Barometer unsteady, with a risinc tendency. A prolonged westerly Ueprcssion has accounted for a predominance of strong westerly windß. Showory conditions have prevailed in the West Coast districts, and Bnow has fallen on some of the higher lovels in the South Island, but fair to cloudy weather has continued alonK the East Coast.
