On May 28. seven days after the F. and 8. liner Westmeath left Panama on her way from England to Auckland, a fire was disoovered in No. 4 'tween decks, but was suppressed, it is believed, before it became really serious, Tho agents for tho vessel Btate that no details of tho damage havo yet been received, but it iB said that moro damage has possibly been dons to the chip than to tho cargo she was carrying where tho fire originated. In the .meantime an average deposit., of 5 per cent, has been fixed, which mdy bo revised when more information has been obtained. The vessel was due to arrive at Auckland on Saturday, and should be here on June 28. BLACKBALL COLLIERS. Owing to the shortage of coal at Greymouth, the Ngatoro has teen unable to load in time to get away for Auckland before to-day. The Ngahere is to leave Wellington on Tuesday morning for Greymouth to load back to Wellington. Tho N?nkuta is expected to get here on Tuoeday from Greymouth, and is-to discharge and return to Lho West Coast port. ' THE WESTRALIA. The-Huddart-Parker, Ltd., announce that the Westralia ; on her next trip from Melbourne, should leave there on June 29. and is due here on Sunday. Tho Te Anau ie taking general cargo to Bluff to-night, Tho Rosamond, now discharging timber from the West Coast, is to return there on Monday or Tuoeday. The Mokoia. which is leaving Dunedin to-day, ia expected to be here on Wednesday, proceeding to Auckland, via Napier, Gifborno, and Tokomaru Bay, tho samo day.
