In speaking of tho progress made 'in the ti«e of km niid 'the growth ,of tho works in Falmerston North, Mr. Kennedy pointed out that during his first year at the works (1898) the consumption of gas wnfl 7,000,000 cubic feet, whereas for last month tho consumption hod risen to 9,000,000 feet. The revenue had grown from JG2OOO por annum at that time to <£53.000 foKthe last financial year. Tho number of consumers had inoreased from 450 to 3500, and the number of l#mwi in tho borough had rlssn now 16 to 824.
