A CIVIC FAREWELL
TO GOVERNOR-GENERAL AND COUNTESS OF LIVERPOOL.
No invitations are being issued by the Mayor and City Couucil to the farewell function,to bo accorded 10 the GovornorGoneral and tbfe Countess of Liverpool in the large Town Hall en Thursday evening next. That rule is being followed as it is desired to make the. gathering as public and democratic in spirit as possible. Thus whilst no individual invitations are being issued, the Mayor invites all citizens to attend in order that a fitting farewell may be accorded to the departing Governor-General. His Worshic the Mayor (Mr. J. P. Luko) will preside, and it is anticipated that the Primo Minister (Right Hon. W. F. Massey) and the Leader of the Opposition (Hon. W. D. S. Macdonald) will attend. A very attractive musical programme will be contributed to by Mrs. A. F. Maysmor, Miss M. Knight, Mr. S. Allwright, imd Mr. E. J. Hill. Mr. Harold V Little will preside at tho piano.
