PEACE AND. WAR ESTABLISHMENTS DISTRIBUTION OF TROOPS (By Telegraph--Presß Association-Copyright (Rec. June 17, 11.20 p.m.) London, June 16. A White Paper detailing tlio Army Estimates for 1920-21 shows the peace establishment of the Territorial army to be 236,000 and the war establishment 581,000. It also shows tlio distribution of the army as follows: Home, 150,000; Colonies. 15,000; Rhine area, 10,000; Constantinople, 21,000; Egypt, 30,000; Palestine, 22,000; Mesopotamia and, North-west Persia; 70,000.—Reuter. CUTTING DOWN EXPENDITURE. (Rec. June 18, 0.20 a.m.) London, June 16. Mr. Bonar Law eaid the Government fully realised the necessity of cutting down military expenditure wherever possible. There was no question of increasing our commitments in regard to Mesopotamia and Persia; on the contrary, the Government was endeavouring to reduce« them—Reuter.
