A White Paper detailing tlio Army Estimates for 1920-21 shows the peace establishment of the Territorial army to be 236,000 and the war establishment 581,000. It also shows tlio distribution of the army as follows: Home, 150,000; Colonies. 15,000; Rhine area, 10,000; Constantinople, 21,000; Egypt, 30,000; Palestine, 22,000; Mesopotamia and, North-west Persia; 70,000.—Reuter. CUTTING DOWN EXPENDITURE. (Rec. June 18, 0.20 a.m.) London, June 16. Mr. Bonar Law eaid the Government fully realised the necessity of cutting down military expenditure wherever possible.
