"With a view (o installing an automatic telephone oxchange in Dunedin the Telegraph Department has purchased a full quarter aero in Dowling Stree:, opposite the Commercial Travellers' Club. Tho intention is to erecl immediately a new telephone exchange which wili bo wholly automatic and will be completed in a year. It is expected that DuneUiu will liavo a full automat)'.< system in operation in two ' and a half years.
