A meeting of the women's civil group (Women's. National Council) took place on Thursday night. Mrs. Ford was elected secretary of the group,- and Miss W. Miller treasurer. It was resolved to approach the Women's National Council, to ask that it call a public meeting to make known tho foct6 concerning tho present conditions of distributions of fruit, fish, and vegetables; and to urge the need for well-organised municipal markets.. The National Council is also to be asked to approach the Education Board on tho matter of a hostel in Wellington for women teachers.
