REMITS TO R.S.A. CONFERENCE, By Tele«aDli-Prc!B Association. . Christchurch, May I.' Tne Canterbury executive of the New Zealand Returned Soldiers' Association has decided to forward the following remits to the Wellington conference:— "That the attention of headquarters Land Committee be called to the ineffectiveness of the.land purchase boards throughout the country, and that the Minister of Lauds be requested to make a clear .statement of their duties and powers; that the action of the Government,in refusing to accept further applications for loans under'the Discharged' Soldiers' Settlement Act for the purchase of house properties be . strongly condemned, and that Cabinet be urged to moke immediate provision for the continuance of these, loans.' ' • "That the War Gratuity Act be amended in order to enable a deceased soldier's brother or sister to receive his overseas war gratuity, irrespective of the recipient being in .''receipt of a pension;' that ip all cases where a totally disabled soldier requires an attendant,'his pension for this purpose be increased to £'i weekly; that all in-patients l travelling to and from hospitals shall be granted hretclass accommodation, and that air patients travelling on .the' Main Trunk line shall in future he provided with sleeping berths."
