WOMAN FALLS FROM A TRAIN
—♦ — ' DROPS THROUGH 'BRIDGE AND IS DROWNED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) Wanganui, February 13. Winnie Melville, aged 38, was drowned in the Wangauui River to-day in sensa-. tional circumstances.
As the Palmerston North train was crossing the Aramoho bridge, the woman either lumped or fell into'tho river beneath;' She was'seen struggling in the water for some time. A lad. named iiamsbottom, son of the stationmnster at Aramoho, pluckily swam to the scene, but the woman sank, before lie could reach her. The lad was finally picked up in' an exhausted state by a rescue bout.
