AMATEUR ATHLETICS
The annual meeting of tho Wellington Centre. N.Z.A.A.A., hold in the Y.M C.A. rooms, was marked by a good attendance of member.!, a, fact which points favourably towards bringing amateur sport back to the high , standard of pre-war davs. Mr. A. W. O. Travew occupied tho chair. Tho following office™ were elected:— President. Mr. It. M'Villy; vice-presi-dents. Messrs. T. S. Konakison (Wellington). W. Dixon (Masterton), and AV. Corby (Wniiganui); hon treasurer, Mr. A. C. Kitto; hon. secretary, Mr. J. O'Sullivan; hadieappers, Messrs. O'Donuel (Masterton), Kitto and Pollock (Welling/ ton): local officer, Mr. Hodson; walking judge. Mr. Ellis; delegates to tho N.Z.A.A.A... Messrs. .]). M'Kenzio and B. A. Guise; lion, auditor, Mr. A E. Kitchine; starter, Mr. T. W. IjCsHc. The Paranaraimvn Sports Club wrote for ■Dcrmission to hold a sports meeting on New Year's Day, which was granted. Tho matter of holding the provincial chaninionsbiii was left in the hands of Messrs. Travors, Kitto, a,nd O'Sullivnn. If. was also decided to hold tho monthly meeting of tho centres on tho second Tuesday in each month. A vote of condolence was passed to the relatives of three members lost during the war. A lieartv vote of thanks to tho retirins officers concluded tho meeting.
