He said that he was exceedingly obliged to the electors of Wellington East for their kindness in again returning him at the head of, the poll, an honour which they had done him for many years. In his electorate the. fight had beeh-abhi'tieuli'irlyicleanione;. there had been no disturbances and no trouble. His opponents had fought fairly, and the newsoapora had treated him with the greatest courtesy. The election campaign had been a particularly pleas'ant one.
