The Dominion WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 17, 1019. THE HOUR OF DECISION

The eloction has been keenly fought; it is for tho people now to register their decision. It remains only to urge electors to regard the duty of voting as one on no account to be neglected. With ,tho fato and welfaro of the Dominion and its people so manifestly dependent on the outcome, such an appeal_ ought, to be hardly necessary, hut it.rests with each man and woman individually to take nothing for granted, and to make their own contribution to such a poll as will register a clean-cufc national decision. It is the duty and interest of_ all good citizens to vote, and to do it as early in the day as circumstances will permit. Apart altogether from a sense of duty, the issues of the election as they have been presented clearly over and over again offer the strongest incontive to electors to do their duty at the polls; The people aru offered such an opportunity as they ou.fht to seize gladly of dealing with political forces which make for dislocation and disaster. Tho selfish attempt of the Ward Party to assert their party pretensions at the expense of national unity, security, and welfare stands out olainly in its true colours. As much is to he said of the wild efforts of the LabourSocialists to establish in national politics the doctrines of class hatred which they have developed chiefly as yet .in the industrial field. As clear a light is thrown upon the political forces which deserve to bo supported and upheld. The' Reform Party has nothing to learn from its opponents in regard to progressive aims and policy. It is pledged to further all measures that will give the country and its people a better and_ wider prosperity. At the same time the Reform Party alone is in a position to close out the dangers that would arise if the "Wardists and tho La-bour-Socialists entered into a nolitical alliance. The Reform Party alone is able to offer the sound and stable government which is essential in order that industrial unrest may bo remedied by removing its causes, and that the rich possibilities of this splendid country may be so developed as to make its people prosperous, happy, and secure. All men and women who wish in their own interests and those of their country to secure the priceless advantages of safe and orderly progress will realise that the onlv xr.r? way to ensure this under existing conditions is to vote Reform,. It is with the issues thus .plainly drawn that the electdrs are called upon to deliver their verdict.
