CASES FOR THE WEEK ■ INFLUENZA REMAINS THE SAME PNEUMONIA SHOWS AN INCREASE For tho week ended December 15, 108 caste of infections diseases wero reported in tho Wellington public health district, an increaso of 21 compared with the figures for the previous wcokly ptriod. It is rather a coincidence that the influenza notifications show no change from the previous return, the number of oases being exactly tho same, viz,., 12. Nine of the influenza oases aro of tho pneumonic type, one such caso being reported from Wellington city. With tho exception of a severe caso at Hawera, the rest of tho influenza cases aro stated to lie mild. During the week under review. It) cases of pneumonia wore reported, but theso wore fairly evenly diatrihiled throughout the district. Diphtheria shows an increase of six cases nvr tho previous week.
