Luke), as one of the College Governors, lias- of late taken the opportunity of personally visiting soi;ie (if our scholastic institutions, and twin his deductions as to the present nraition ;U ,<l hi s belief in the biff future ot Wellington, lie is convinced that a serious •esponsibility is placed on local governing authorities to meet: the public needs thai are'pressing on the community, not only lor recreation purposes, but tor 0,-jik'ahoiial purposes in and around the cnv.. He instanced the crowded state of some of the State schoolsCTowded and overcrowded in spite of all the talk about hygiene and nrrto-date school iiicthods—and the Girls' College. he matter of dealing' with tho accomwnrlajon problem was becoming; a verv d'iffi- ™. 01 >o for the Education Hoard and Col ere Governors to solve. In the cases of both (he Girls' and Bovs' Colleges extra room will simply have to be provided for next year to accommodate ffio extra students coming in. and as Christmas is at hand there is little time to do it in.
