PETONE DISTRICT HIGH, SCHOOL
The monthly meeting of the Pctone District High School Committee was held last evening. There wero present:Messrs. D. M'Kenzie (chairman), Ashby, Silbcrry, Armstrong, Kirk, Wight, and JCvle (secretary). The Education Board advised that Mrs. F. R. Denham had been appointed assistant mistress at the secondary department.
The headmaster (Mr. C. K. Hnslam) reported that the average attendance was fairly well maintained, although thore had been a number of severe colds due to tho recent cold snap. >. • The Education Board advised that it was favourable to tho erection of a woodwork room and also a cooking room at the District High School, provided a grant can ho obtained for tho .purpose, and asked the committee to nidicato on a sketch plan tho position they would like tho building erected assuming it would be financed. It was resolvyl that tho sketch plan asked for be submitted,
