HUTT LICENSING COMMITTEE
Mr. W. G. Biddell, S.M., presided over ths annual sitting of the Hutt Licensing Committee yesterday. There were also present Messrs. J". W. M'Ewan, J. Cotton, M. W. Welch, W. Wearne, and W. Cotton. The following new licenses wero granted:—K. I. Low, Trcnfham Hotel; 11. E. Galrell, Railway Hotel; 11. 0. End, Family Hotel; and Myra Campbell, Victoria Hotel. Transfers wero granted as follow:—Victoria Hotel, Pel one, J. S. Vial to Myra Campbell; Taita Hotel, M. Campbell to Mary A. Burns; Railway Hotel, Lower Hutt, B. Perkins to Arthur T. Gatrell; Family Hotel, Lower Hutt, A. E. Glensor to E. C. Beid.
The police raised an objection to tho granting of an application by M. A. Burns for a renewal of (he license of the Taita Hotel. The Bench finally decided to adjourn tho case for one month, pending a probable transfer.
Tho following renewals were granted:— F. L. Simpson, Central Hotel, Lower Hutt; Mary E. Young, Provincial Hotel; W. S. Leger, Bellovue Hotel; 11. ,1. palmer, Empire Hotel. The application of Harriet -Haddock for a renewal of the license of the Central Hotel, Pctone, was adjourned for one month. The application of Miss E. J[, Richardson for a license for the Grand National Hotel was adjourned for three months, it being impossible to grant a license to an unmarried woman. Andrew Y. Lees was granted a renewal of his wholesale license.
