EVIDENCE OF BUKGLABIOUS ENTRY. Bj Tclceranli—Press ABnociatiou.' Opotiki, June 4. A fire started in the heart of the town at 3.30 this morning. Tho shops owned by J. C. Arthur and occupied by 11. E, Battle (bootmaker), J. Stoptoo (saddler), and the building owned and occupied by H. Larmer (tobacconist) were completely destroyed. Insurances: Arthur's' buildings J3IOO in tho Sun Office and X 25!) in the National. Battle's stock, in'tho National Office. Steptoe's stock, .£SO in the' Sun Office. Termer's buildings and stock, including three billiard tables, „I'GSO in the Sun Office. The occupiers are all heavy losers. Tho brigade was promptly on the scene, and prevented .the further spread of the file, adjoining buildings being only slightly damaged. A large plateglass window in the 6hop owned by W. Oakes aml\ occupied by C. Shalfoon, drapers, on tho opposite side of Church Street, was shattered. There js a distinct bullet hole in tho remaining portion.
