BEER CLAMOUR IN ENGLAND
CROWDS RAID THE HOTELS. (Uec. June 3, 11 p.m.) London, May 22 (delayed). A Manchester deputation waited on the Food Ministry in connection with the shortage of beer, due to the Government continuing to restrict the output. It wn* pointed out trouble was being caused in Manchester and Sajford, where wine ■hotels were broken into during closed liourft, the customers helping themselves, and leaving payment behind, and nloo insisting on ranking a search of the cellars, although assured that the stocks were exhausted.
Mr. G. If. liobcrts announced in llio House of Commons that the Government had decided to increase the burrclago of beer from twenty to twenty-six millions. The present prices will continue.—Aus.N.Z. Cable Assn.
