ME. T. H. JONES AND THE MAORI Owing io the action of the chairman of the Wellington ltugby Football Union in notifying Mr- '!'• H. Jones (hen. secretary o* the Wellington Itosby Union) that an informnl meeting held yesterday morning requested his withdrawal i.s referee in the Maori match. Jγ, Jones is resigning the hon. secretaryship ot the union. At the chairman , * eiigß«lion Mi. Jones referred his appointment as rcfeiee in tho match to the. weekly meeting of tho Referees' Association on Monday •night, when the anointment was continued It is stated that the matter wns not raised at an official meeting with he Maori managers at D.M am. .Yesterday, but that on reaching I>°«>« - at ', l ' Mf. Jones was informed by Mr. W. J'. Hornig of the above leanest. It is understood that of the. eleven member* of the executive, the following were not present at the infomnl meetinßt-Mresrf. J. Prendeville, J. N. Milliird, W. W. Cond. EH. Ward, G. Jackson, 11. Buck, ami W'. H. Donovan.
