'Joseph Nathan and Co. from their correspondents in Montreal, dated May 19:—\English Government not purchasing Cnnaaiati cheese output. British retail pricei Is. Gd. per pound. Market 'here > 1545. to 1565. per cw.t." There lias been much controversy in dairying . circles in this country as to jvhelher or not the Canadians were making a better arrangement than the New ./ealandere for_ the marketing of cheese this year. New Zealand's . exportable surplns of cheese hqs been sold to th'e Imperial Government at IOJd. per lb f.0.b., equivalent to 300s. 4d. per cwt. The Canadian producers aopear to be getting a better price, but it hns to. be rtoted that the New Zealand producers have been given a secure market, and relieved from trouble regarding shipment. since the Imperial Government accepts the cheese in the New' Zealand 6tores. i
