General T'ownshond was released on tho termination of tho hostilities. Ho served in tlia Chitral campaign, and had command of tho-garrison of Chitral during tho siego of that place. In 1907-!) ho was Assist-ant-Adjutant-Gencral of the Ninth sion of tho Army in India.]
