Owing to the number forivnrd being in excess of requirements bidding was erratic. Good beef sold at late rate, but a reduction in price had lo be 'accepted for other sorts. . Prices:—Best heavy bullocks, £ti 10s. to ,£25; good, .£lB to .£2O; medium,. .£ls 15s. to ,£IG 10s.; light, ,£l3 10s. to .£ll 10.?.; best coivs and heifers, £la ss. to .SIG hi.; irood, ..£l!i to Mi 10s.; light, £S 10s. to Xl 2. Xhere was a small yarding of fat slii'opT mostly of a good useful quality. At the opening the market: was very firm, prices showing an advance of about 3s._ compared with the last sale, but later competition was less keen and prieue fell Is. Gd. on opening rates. Prices:—Best shorn wethers, Us. to i7e. 6d.; extra, 51s. Gd.; g"ood, .Jfls. to 435.; medium, 3is. to 3Gs.; best shorn lambs, 38s. to 425.; extra to ios.; medium lo good, 30s. and 3-1.3.; wethers, in t-ho wool, , 525. to 565. In faf. lambs the quality was only moderate, but included in the entry were some very good ones. Tho market for tho best wne very firm at lute rules, but medium sorts' brought lower by Is. thnn Into rates. Prices:—Best, 28s. (id. to 31s. Gd.; extra to 365. Gd.; medium, 2-k. to 265.; light, .20s. lo 225. Pigs: A good yarding of fats and a small entry of etores, The. demand lor fats of all descriptions was very keen ; and prices ruled on a very high level. Stores sold well also at prices considerably in advance of late rates.
