By Telegraph-Press Association. Creymouth, September 23. At b, largely-attended moeting of railway workers at Greymouth the following resolution was carried:—"That having considered the reply of Mr. Mack, general secretary of tae A.S.K.S., giving reasons for'.coutesting the Wellington Central seat iu opposition to'the .official representative of the New Zealand Labour Party, we wish entirely to dissociate ourselves from his action,' which is contrary to the wishes of a large number of railway workers; wo believe that any attempt made to prolong the life of the present National Government, and consequently the high cost of living, would be a calamity from the point of view of the workers of this Dominion. Tlmaru, September 23. The Timaru branch of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Sen-ants passed a motion regretting Mr. Slack s candidature for the Wellington Contral seat as likely to split the Labour vote and so endanger the prospects of the candidate democratically chosen oy the Labour bodies.
