6 WANGANUI DEFEAT CHRIST'S COLLEGE. Bj' Telegraph—Press Association. Wanganui, August 26. The annual inter-college football tournament was lat Wanganui to-day, when the Wangamii Collegiate School defeated Christ's College by 11 points to 8. Play was fairly oven all through, tho School winning chiefly through the clever play of Stowe, Stewart, and Baddeley. Stove- scored two tries for the School and Stewart kicked a penalty goal. Wilson and Seyden, who both scored tries, together with Cowlishaw, Hargreaves, and Lowry, played excellently for Christ's College. There was a large attendance, and tho game was fast and exciting throughout. AUOKIfAND DEFEAT NELSON IN COLLEGE TOURNAMENT.By Telegraph-Press Association. Now Plymouth, August 26. In the second match of tho triangular* tournament to-day, Auckland College end Grammar School defeated Nelson College by 22 points to 3. Auckland attacked most of the game, but until the concluding twenty minutes the NelEon defonco kept them at bay, the score reading 3 all., The Auckland players then asserted their superiority, and notched live more tries, two being converted. For the winners tries were scored by Wright, Grierson, Badcley, Kronfuld, M'Cullough, and. Peart. M'Cullough and Badeley each 'converted one. For the losers, Mill scored a try.
