1 By Telegraph-Press Association. Whaltatane, August 26. The Hon. W. H. Hemes (Native Minister) states that.the Government has purolused approximately 208,4AJ acres of Urewera land. In operating Ol blocks totalling 437,719 acres Natives' interests were purchased to tho number of 8124. Operating was begun only in June, 1915, as tho Natives' SL were not settled before Some blocks particularly near Waikareof the Urewera country is 644,568 aores.
