WAIKATO WINTER SHOW

TO BE OPENED TO-MORROW. Those who liavo been closely connected, with the Waikato district "for the last decade realise -what an instigator of-pro-gress the Waikato Winter Show has been to the district.. From its humble beginning of twelve years ago the Winter hhow has blossomed out to a large exhibition, with buildings covering two acres in oxtonl, which is necessary for housing the thousands of exhibits. The progress of the show has been on a solid basis, and depicts the wonderful progress pf n prospermia district. This year wilt again see many changes ■in-the,'arrangement-of exhibits. The main building-will bo almost entirely devoted tothe farmers' artillery—milking machines, dairy utensils, agricultural .machinery, and tractors will he available for the careful study of thousands of fartnors. Believing that any activity which tends-to increase production and belp_in conserving available supplies are measures of the highest importance, the Waikato Winter Show Association must be .regarded as\an important activity during the war for the following reasons: (1) The function of the show is to projnoto production, improve the quality of all- products, and encourage better methods of production; (2) actual demon-, 6tration and instruction have proved the most effective. the medium of the eye. The finest specimens of fat stock, grains, roots, I fruit, and vegetables is gathered together for the information of tho visitor, the placing of every department of tho show on u. war-time basis in order to secure rosults that will provo tiie best aids in meeting the demands of the hour. The Winter Show is also u conference on agriculture, and dairying workers'find nil the benefits arising from an exchange of ideas are to bo had by visitors to the ,show. The Waikato Winter Show is a great farmers' conference on production and economic utilisation of food products.
