THE SWIMMING BENEFIT.

The art of swimming, although not a part of the school syllabus, is now generally recognised as a necessary part and parcel of the equipment of youth. Even in these strenuous times tlie matter is not being overlooked, and the local swimming clubs have organised. a huge picture entertainment to bo held in the Town Hall on Thursday and Friday next, for the purpose of providing funds for the gratuitous teaching of swimming to the children of Wellington. The representatives of the film companies of Australasia have contributed star features to the programme, which will consist of 12,090 feet of dramatic, comic, industrial, topical and scenic pictures, making one of the biggest programmes ever screened south of the Line. Tho whole of the proceeds will be devoted to the fund mentioned, and the whole of the seats will bo available at a charge of one shilling. .
