London, Dccomber 11. In the House of Commons, Mr. A. J. Balfour (Foreigu Minister) stated that in September last the British Government received from Germany a communication, sent "through a neutral diplomatic channel, that Germany would be glad to make communication with the British Government regarding the question of peace. The Government repled that they were prepared to receive any communication tnat Germany desired to make, and discuss it with Britain's Allies. The Government then informed France, Italy, Japan, Russia, aud the United States of the German suggestion and its Teply. No answer had /been returned, and no other official communication had beon received—Reuter.
