Melbourne, November 30. The Minister' of Defence (Senator Pearce) announced if the referendum was carried it would remove one of the difficulties iri the way of granting leave to the original Anzacs. Provided that other difficulties conld be surmounted, the Government would endeavour to bring the men back'. Speaking at Toowoomba, Mr. Hughes stated that under the proposed 'scheme no man would_ be called up and sent out of Australia until he had attained the age of 21.—Press !Assn. Ottawa, November 29. _ Mr. Mewburn, Minister of the Mili- , , tia, says that Canada is in precisely the same position as Australia. Until sufficient reinforcements are forthcoming it will be impossible to spare a single man from the front on furlough. Canada hoped to give the members of the.
