LABOUR CONDITIONS
The conferenco of Chambers of Conn' merce this month will bo to consider the following Wellington remit:— "(h) That tliie conferonce, appreciating the necessity for co-operation hp-. tween employers and employed, to Ho end (hat the productive capacity --f tho country should l»o increased to its utmost to enable tho Dominion to fulfil its oblisation both durins; and after Ilia war, and realising that industrial pciico is conducive (o the welfare of the Po< minion and of all sections of tho community, deprecates the continuance nt 'strike methods by sections of organised labour with resultant loss to loth qtaployere and employed. _ "(b) That with tho object of preventing loss to tho commu.nitv and national interests being jeopardised, the commercial community should organise to counteract 'force' methods of industrial strife."
