A PACIFIST PUNISHED
London, August 23. John P. Fletcher, a pacifist, formerly in Australia and New Zealand, has been sentenced to two years' imprisonment with hard labour for refusing to handle a rifle at Whitley Bay.—The "Times." [Fletcher in May last was fined J3IHO by a London Court for issuing a leaflet entitled "Repeal tho Act," which was considered likely to prejudice recruiting and discipline ill His Majesty's forces.]
