GLOOMY WEATHER REPORT
So far as "Wellington was concerned, vesterdav's beautiful spring-liko weather was a pleasant surprise lo peoplo who fiail perused tlie gloomy forebodings of the official meteorological expert. A light northerly prevailed, dropping at intervals almost to a flat calm. According to the official weather report, thero was a general fall in tho sarometer, and in some parts of tho country rain fell. Present indications, staled tii'c report, aro for northerly to v.-osterly winds, increasing iu strength to galo velocity, cloudy, and unsettled weather, with rain generally and snow un tho higher levels. Tho barometer will fall everywhere.
