<f A large number of spectators gathered at Alcock and Co.'s showrooms last evening to witness the first two fames in the Crystalnte Cup amateur billiard championship. W. N. Tucker fl?ederal Club) and D. K. Dennison (Mail-Room Club) -farted the balls rolling. For the first 100 points the contestants kept close together. Tucker then strung Wether a nice 35 break, and playing with more confidence drew well away from his opponent, and finally won >omfortably. The second game. W. L. Brief (Pi-tonri Working Men's Club) and 0. E. Tyrrel (Post and Telegrauh Club) went to the former, after a closely-contested game. The winner was in prood form, and played .consistently right thronsh the game. The best breaks were: Tncker. 35—27; Dennison. 22—22—23; Brice, 20—20; Tyrrell. 25—23. This evening R, F, Mackay meets P. G. Devine, and H. Stone meets ,T. Bracken ridge. Play commences at 7 p.m.
