Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held, a very successful clearing sale at Makaranara, on Thursday, op account of Mr. O. W. ■'Walker. The dairy vtws wore all - second and. third calvers, and met with good competition. ' Tho top price was ' £12 155., although there were a considerable number sold at about the Eame figure. Tho herd of 54 cows averaged £9 35., which, considering that the dairy season is over, must bo considered higMy satisfactory. The line of bullocks advertised realised £16 55., going torft buyer from Palmerston ,North. Following is a list of prices:—Dairy co-ws, August calvers,-£ll, £11 155.,-£l2 to £12 15s.'; September and October .carvers; £7 10s. to £10 10s.; backward and late calvers, £6 to £7; cows, «,t drop,' to £14 2s. 6d.; heifers in calf, £10 7s. 6d.; grade Jer-sey-bull, £6: -pedigree '■ Jersey bull, 11 guineas; light fat .cows, £8.'95.; fat, heifers, £12;' cows with calves, £11 10s.; forward bullocks, £16 55.; milk cart, £11 6s: dogcart, £8 10s.; hay rake, £7 205.; cattle dog, £?, 155.; sundries also sold particularly well. \
