KARORI AFFAIRS
BOROUGH COUNCIL MEETING. Last evening's meeting of tho Karori Borough Council was presided over by Mr. B. G. H. Burn (Mayor). Tho engineer in his report suggested that next year the enlargement of tho reservoir supplying the park be considered. There was ample room to enlarge the conservation to 20,000 gallons.
The Public Works and Recreation Grounds Committee recominonded that Mr. C. G. T. Walker bo appointed poundkecper. Tho recommendation was adopted. Tho council decided Rgain. to draw tho attention of the Department of Agriculture to the necessity for dealing more effectively with tho noxious weed pest. The Town Clerk reported that legal proceedings had been taken agajiisfc a man for evading payment of his car faro. The case had resulted in defendant's being convicted and ordered to pay costs, 18s. Accounts to tho amount of £911 were passed for payment.
