LONG-DISTANCE RACE. For the long-distance race of the Port Nicholson Yacht Club eleven started. Tho course was from the starting-line round the Pinnacle buoy tp a buoy off Petone Wharf back to .Terningham, thence to the starting-lino. The starters, were:—Waitangi, scr.; Kotiri, lOmiii.; Wairere, 15tnin.; Viola, 19min.; Atlanta and Windward, 26min.; Viking, 27min.; Nannette, 27miu.; Rawene, 35min.; lolantho, 37min.; Venus, 39min. Tho Waitangi, AVairerc, Atlanta, and Nannette started a few minutes late. Windward rounded the Pinnacle buoy first, ; followed closely by tho other boats. I Waiere soon took the lead, and finished 2min. 3sec. ahead of Waitangi. Wairero finished 6hrs. . 22min. 15sec.; Waitangi, 6hrs. 24min. 12sec; Viola, 6hrs. 34uiin.
