The Huddart, Parker Co. advise that it has been definitely decided that the Wimmera, which has been laid up at Melbourne on account of the coal strike, will leave that port on January 6 for Wellington direct, and is duo here on Janu-' ary 11, and sails on January 13 for Melbourne, via southern ports. According to the latest time-table issued, by the Union Steam Shtp Company the Paloona will probably leave Wellington for Melbourne direct on Saturday, January 6. POET CffALMEES AT AUCKLAND. The Port Chalmers arrived at Auckland •from Sydney yesterday morning. She was delayed at the Australian port on account of the coal strike. After leaving Auckland she calls at Kapier, and is duo in Wellington next Tuesday. The Port Chalmers is commanded by Captain West. She left London on September 25. AMOKUKA PROM THE ISLANDS. , The Government training ship Amokura' arrived in Wellington from the southern outlying islands on Tuesday evening. Yesterday she berthed at the King's Wharf to take in water, and then anchored in tlie stream again. Commander Hooper stated thaftthe trip had been quiet, and splendid weather had prevailed throughout. No wreckage was found on the trip, but at the Auokland Islands it. was found that the provision depot had been broken into by a sealing party from the brigantine Eachel Cohen. A note was left by them stating that they had been in difficulties regarding food, and they had been forced to help themselves to the supplies of the Government.

The Andy Mahony, -which is well over 100 days out from San Francisco, put in at Sydney for water some • days ago, and' should reach Auckland within the next few weeks. The schooner Defiance is now over 70 days out from Melbourne to Puget Sound, where she has been fixed to load for Wellington. In the last issue of tho New Zealand Gazette it was notified that the Ted flashing light buoy on west of Auckland Bock at Napier was taken on shore for repairs on December 6, and temporarily replaced by a black conical buoy -without a light for a period of about 14 days.
