Ideas, says Jeannette Marks, in the Melbourne "Leader," have a way of rolling themselves up like snowballs. Assuredly if wo roll ourselves up to be mournful we shall be mournful. What is more, we acquire all the ugly, unattractive "fixin's" that go with mournful thought. Our mouths droop, our eyes are dull, our voices are complaining, and we have indigestion.

Yes, indeed, we have. For we nerer. have time to eat a meal in peace and comfort. If this sort of thing is what a woman wants, then she is in the position of llio man who said: "I will drown, and nobody shall .help me." However, some of us prefer mouths that go up at tho corners, eyes that shine, voices that are cheerful, shoulders that are thrown back, and digestions that make life a pleasure. Those of us who prefer this different sort of life can have it. ,

No matter what happens, minds can be kept cheerful, appetites keen, laughter ready, thoughts kindly, and harts warm. And what is more, we have discovered that this "happy way" enables us to keep a- fine balance in tho bank of beautv and energy. Worth while?

Everything that gives good results Is worth while. It is worth while, no matter liow many . failures we make, to get the habit of overcoming weakness. It is worth while to think patiently of what wc accomplish, and to destroy, so far as wo can, all those thoughts and feelings which tear us down. It is worth while to build up to the great victory which spells success.

Every woman should be rational enough to see the wonderful value of Belf-control.

Given this simplo acknowledgment of the worth of will power plos a genuine desire to possess it, and tho good work is almost automatically set in motion. ■ i
