The action of the Government in having the duty taken off imported flour has brought the wheat and (lour market almost to a standstill. One of the first rosults was to increase the offerings of ■wheat by growers, and several lines of Hunter's Tuscan changed hands at ss. 6d. at country stations, but millers and merchants a<ro now 1 not offering- this price in view of the conference of wheat growers to be held on Thursday, and that a certain proposal is to be put forward by the Minister. Millers are not inclined to make further purchases, or would probably dot offer more than ss. at country stations.
