War Victims' Relief Society. Tlio committee of the Kolburn Branch of the War Victims' Relief Soeiofcy asks members to send garments as usual- to Mrs. F. Barclay, 12 Upland Road, Kclburn.« New members willing to contribute a garment n month will he welcomed, ami also gifts of useful clothing, to be included in the case to be filled this week. 'Warm clothes are mo's't needed at present and are wisely distributed among tho cold and suffering by tho Society of Friends. Tho Colonial Carrying Company very kindly collect parcels from any part of Wellington and also forwards the cases. Miss E. Theodora Greenwood is hon. secretary, and communications can be telephoned to Mrs. Alfred Atkinson, Fairvicw Road. The Countess of Liverpool Fund. Yesterday morning in tho Town Hall tho monthly meeting of the Mayoress's Committee was held, and Mrs. Luko was in tho chair. Also present were: Mrs. A. Crawford.(hon. secretary), Mrs. J. Findlay (hon. treasurer), and Mcsdames Nathan, Tripp, Ashenden, Fitchctt, Dyniock, Townsend, Barltrop, Crump, Murphy and Miss Frascr. it was decided that work should cease for three weeks at Christmas time, from December 22, so that everyone should have a well-earned rest. Mrs. W. Nathan proposed, and Mrs. Barltrop seconded, that £200 should ho given from the Christmas funds to the Citizens Dinner Fund for tho troops in camp at Christmas time. Tho'motion was carried.. Yesterday eight cases of gift-goods were dispatched from the Town Hall, containing about 260 parcels for our men on the transports at Christmas time. Three hundred more remain .to be forwarded, and packers aro busily making these up. The lion, treasurer, Mrs. J. Findlay, has received the sum of £100 from Miss Beere, tho proceeds of. her-dance recital, and £36 Is. 6tl. from Mr. and Mrs. Cnlford Bell (tho proceeds of their elocutionary recital). Both amounts were sent through Her Excellency the. Countess of Liverpool, also 10s. from Miss Moore (payment for socks). The following monthly contributions for parcels are acknowledged:—Khandallah, £3; I'ahiatua, £o; Ohokunc, £5; AA'anganui, £o; Woodville, £5; Dannevirke, £30 (3 months); Ractihi, £6 (two-months). Miss Couzens sent £5, as the result of a radio sho had conducted herself. The committee expressed their great regret at tho loss of the Countess of Glasgow owing to her departure for England. A joint farewell tea is to be giyen for her, in conjunction with the Rod Cross Committee.' Mrs. Luke and Mrs. AV. Nathan were appointed . delegates to meet the Rod Cross Committee, and to make the necessary arrangements. The following have sent gifts to the Town Hall during the past week:—-Cap-' tain Eckford, 1 box of hooks; Women's National Reserve, Wadestown, 6 pairs of socks and balaclavas; Mrs. M'Gowan, socks; Mrs. Jordon, books; Mrs. Harrison, hooks; Hazel and Bona, Favellc, 2 scarves; Mrs. Lewis, parcel of books; Mrs. Harrison, books; Mrs. Cniicksbank (per Mrs. Dnmbell). 16 pairs of socks; Miss Sladdon, 2 pairs of socks. Last Friday evening was the occasion of a very enjoyable little send-off, held at the Windsor Hotel, to thrccof-tho men of tlio Twentieth Reinforcements, Lance-Corporal. Cmiett, Corporal Toogood, of- the Infantry, and SergeantMajor Falkinder, of the Remounts. Mrs. Curlett (Cliristehureh) was '. the hostess, it being her son's birtTTday. After the cako had been cut by LanceCorporal Curlctt, his health was proposed and merrily drunk by all. LanceCorporal Curlett suitably responded, and he was then presented, with several suitable gifts, after which tho healths of Corporal Toogood and SergeantMajor Falkinder were toasted and responded to. A few old friends of the "boys^ l , were present. They included Mrs. Curlett and her daughters, Nurse Curlett, and Miss Marjoric Curlett, Mr. and Mrs. Allen (Wellington), Mr. and Miss Toogood (Feathcrston), Mr. and' Mrs. Samuels (Day's Bay), Nurse Fleming (Wellington),'and Miss Mabel Craddock ; (Christehurch).

Cifts for the Red Cro3s. The following ■ liavo dispatched gifts during the week to the depot iu fiercer Street:—Hataitai and Rilbirnie National Reserve, 8 pairs of pyjamas; Sirs. Fuller (Scatoun), old linen; Wnvcrley Women's Patriotic League, one large parcel and case of books; Gisborno Women's Patriotic Committee, dressing gowns, sliirts, lounge suits, underclothing, treasure bags, and old linen; Hastings lied Gross workers, two cases of bandages for Rnssjan Red Cross; Red Cross Guild (Ormohdville), 1 caso of hospital garments; Red Cross Committee (Dauncvirke), 1 case hospital garments; Patriotic Workers (Palmerston North), 2 cases of goods; Norsewood Red Cross, caso of garments, old linen, and towel, etc. Concerts at Trenthani Camp. A concert party organised by Miss Gladys Watkins visited Trontham Camp last Friday evening, and gave a concert in the newly enlarged Y.M.C.A. Hall. The concert party consisted of Mrs. Pearce (better known as Miss . May Driscoll, whose line contralto voico is too seldom heard on the concert platlorfa), the Misses 6.'Watkins, E. Driscoll, Nellio Simpson (flautist), Mr. W. Goudie, Lce.-Corpl. Exton, and Corpl. Georgo Holloway. The songs, quartets, and flute solos were enthusiastically received by the men, and special mention must be mado of the rendering of the charming humorous song cycle, by Collinson, entitled "A Kerry Courting," which was sung apd acted in a most spirited manner by the Misses Watkins, Driscoll, Lce.rCorpl. Exton, and Mr. Goudie, with Corpl. George Holloway at the piano. After receiving the plaudits of the soldiers the. party were entertained at supper by Capt. Kirk and other officers. Levve.v, won by Mr. Ackland. An enjoyable concert was .given in the Salvation Army Institute, Trenthani, on November 30, by a. party arranged by Mrs. W. Flanagan. This ■ .concert party has been a regular visitor to Trentham since the'beginning of the war, and the enthusiasm shown by tho men who pack the hall to the very doors must be very gratifying to the per-' formers. Songs were given by Mrs. •Flanagan, Misses Webb, and Rev. Van Stavoren, and Mr. Flanagan, violin solos by Miss Frieda AValter, and recitations b.v: Misses Van Staveren and Davies, every item, being insistently encored.
