Mr. Horace Goldin, tho Russian conjuror and illusionist, arrived from Sydney by tho Moerakivyesterday. He has been honoured, in liis capacity as an entertainer, by royalty, and holds the record for command performance in England, having been commanded to appear four times within a space of eifht days before tho late King li-d----ward VII. As evidence of the honour he wears a very handsome scarf-pin, a . large "E" outlined in small diamonds, enclosing tho Roman numerals VIJ. and surmounted by a miniature of the Royal Crown. Mr. Goldin also h*,> a handsome diamond pin, presented-ic him by tho present King of England—a capital G, surmounted by a crown. A similar gift was made him by the Queen of Saxony. "A few years ago I had facsimiles of tho three pins worked out in enamel on the outside of a gold cigarette case. On the second day of the war I had the illluck to drop .the case, but the only damage done was a crack across tho facsimile of tho Saxonian gift, which meant that I had, with my people, broken with Germany."
