THE ARMLET BADGES

NEW REGULATIONS GAZETTED. The wearing of unauthorised, arm badges is expressly forbidden bv regulations made under the War Initiations Act, and duly gazetted last night. Henceforward it will be permissible to' wear only the approved badges, the red and the. khaki armlets. The only other badges any man may wear on his arm will be. those indicative of naval, military. or official rank, or a badge indicative of mourning. •It will no longer ba lawful to wear the brass crown on a red or a khaki ground in place of tho red or the khaki armlet. Every man who wears an armlet is required to carry with Mm tho card issued to him along with the badge, which is in effect a certificate that lie is entitled to wear ono or other of the badges. This certificate the wearer must produce on demand by any military officer, warrant officer, or non-commissioued officer, or any constable. No maii is permitted to wear bis armlet in a mutilated or a, substantially altered form. There is nothing in the regulations, however, to compcl any man to wear the badge issued, to him. if for nuv reason he dops not wish lo do so. All that the regulation?; order 1.9 that lie shall not wear any other arm badge.
